Bigging up the small businesses
There are so many brilliant businesses and creators out there that I want to get into the habit of telling others all about them. I tend to just use them and then forget to share. Share because you care is a naff phrase but it does what it says on the tine. Another naff phrase.
Anyway, I’m going to be doing this on social media more than my website, but this blog just acts as a reminder of what I am doing.
The changing high street
Lock down has been bloody hard for local businesses. I know, I run one. We have come out of this past year with our bank balances hammered but also with a new sense of purpose. In the past year we have all changed what we do, how we provide a service, how we engage. We have pivoted so much, we are punch drunk but for those of us who are able to survive I honestly think we will be stronger for it.
Over the past few years there have been calls to save the high street. This past year the high street wasn’t even open! What will it look like next year?
So, I’m doing my bit to tell people all about the businesses I want to see next year. And all the years after that as well.
Here’s the first business I want to big up.
PB Running 3D Gait Lab – Victoria Cornwall

I swear they are such a great shop. They offer a fabulous service and we probably spent an hour trying on shoes until we found a pair that felt right.
🤕
I mentioned that I often have problems with my achilles and they spent time discussing the problems and now I have a new way to tie laces! I felt like a five year old.
😹
And I now have a gorgeous new pair of running shoes. So, thank you!

Liz Hurley as well as being the owner of this blog, runs a bookshop in Cornwall, right by the sea and writes books. You can buy them in her shop (of course), Waterstones and other outlets as well as Amazon.
When she’s not reading, she’s writing and when she’s not writing, she’s walking. And when she’s not doing any of that she’s binging on box sets and sleeping.
This website is for her Cornish titles. Her fiction can be found at www.lizhurleywrites.com
